Killflare Wildfire home defence supplies, reviewed in plain language.
Independent guides to the gear that keeps a house standing in a wildfire, organised around the Home Ignition Zone.

01 — The brief
The problem it solves
The official wildfire advice from FireSmart Canada and NFPA Firewise is excellent, but it stops at “install ember-resistant vents” without telling a homeowner which ones, or what to buy first.
The brief: connect the guidance to the shopping list — what works, what's marketing, and what order to buy it in.
02 — What we built

03 — How it's put together
Structure
Wildfire gear (structure, zones, people) and home safety are the two category trees; region pages per province and territory give recent burned-area figures; guides explain the zones.
Under the hood
- Astro with hashed WebP images and responsive srcsets
- Schema: Organization and WebSite sitewide; Article and BreadcrumbList on products and guides; Article and Place on region pages
- Deliberately no Product or Review star markup — the site doesn't fake ratings
Details that matter
- A sitewide “evacuate when ordered” banner: no product replaces leaving early
- Price bands rather than exact prices, so pages don't go stale
- Affiliate relationships disclosed; no payment for placement and no manufacturer previews
Affiliate content with a spine: the site sells only after it has told you what matters most, and it says so when the honest answer is “don't buy anything, leave.”
