North & Noble Ottawa renovations, built above code.
A renovation site for an Ottawa general contractor: a task-by-task cost estimator, worked sample quotes and a page for every neighbourhood it serves.

01 — The brief
The problem it solves
North & Noble is an Ottawa general contractor for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, decks and secondary suites. Its pitch is predictable service, on-budget delivery and work built above code, with one point of contact from the first visit to the final walkthrough.
Homeowners shopping for a renovation want to know what it will cost before they pick up the phone. The brief: an architectural-magazine look with big photography, and real Ottawa prices shown task by task, so a visitor arrives at the quote request already knowing the range.
02 — What we built
Features that do real work.
Task-by-task cost estimator
Pick the kind of work, the size, the finish level and any extras, and see a likely price range broken down task by task, with HST.
Ottawa prices, in the open
Typical totals for every kind of job at three finish levels, built from published Ottawa and Ontario price guides and adjusted to the contractor's own rates.
Sample quotes
Worked quotes for real job types — a Glebe kitchen, a Barrhaven basement, a Kanata addition — so visitors see exactly how a number is put together.
A house you can click
A drawn cross-section of a typical Ottawa home: choose the basement, kitchen, bath, addition or deck to see what gets built there.
Every neighbourhood covered
Service-area pages for Kanata, Barrhaven, Orléans, Stittsville, Manotick and the rest of the region.
Free quote with photos
A quote request form that takes a photo of the space, so the first conversation starts with the room in view.
03 — How it's put together
Structure
Services, sample quotes, the cost estimator, how we build, about and a free quote, with a second bar for the six kinds of work and the service areas. Get a free quote stays in the header on every page.
Under the hood
- Static HTML with one small script for the estimator and navigation, so pages load fast on a phone
- The estimator degrades gracefully: without JavaScript, the full typical-price tables still show
- Self-hosted, preloaded fonts and responsive WebP photography
- An XML sitemap covering every service, sample quote and area page
Details that matter
- A phase strip on each task — plan, demo, rough-in, close-in, finish — so a quote reads like the job will run
- Wide price ranges that run from the contractor's own rates to the top of the market, so the numbers inform without scaring anyone off
- Every price labelled as an estimate, with the date the guides were checked
For a contractor, the price is the question everyone is afraid to ask — so the site answers it first, then asks for the visit.
